#MindsetMonday Changing The Belief, “I Don’t Have Enough Time!”

We are starting a new #MindsetMonday series and we will be kicking it off today with #MindsetMonday Changing The Belief, “I Don’t Have Enough Time!”  It is going to be a fun series.  With this series you will learn how to take control of the mind by overcoming negative thoughts that arise on the way to your fitness goals.  We’ve all had the experience of wanting to reach specific goals only to have the mind get in the way.  Let’s change that today!

Welcome to the first of the series that will help you to destroy negative thoughts and pattrens and help you to replace them with positve ones that will aid you in taking contol of your mind and body. To follow this series be sure to check back to fit1bootcamp.com/blog every Monday!  Stick with us, you will be glad that you did!  Your body and mind will thank you!

If you’ve ever felt like your life seems to control you rather than the other way around, then we have you covered!  I’ve found in my 16 plus years of training that people come up with every excuse under the sun for not taking control of their fitness and well-being and todays belief (or excuse) takes the cake (or yummy fat bomb).  It goes a little something like this:  “I’ve got too much going on in my life,” It’s way to much for me to take on right now,” or “There isn’t enough time!”  When it’s time to make a change these thoughts or beliefs have no place, it’s time to let them go!

Since I’ve been doing this a long time I can confidently share that, “I don’t have enough time,” is one of the most common fitness excuses.  When you say that you don’t have enough time, what you are really saying is, “I don’t have enough time for that!”… or worse still, “I don’t have enough time for me!”  Well, to that I say, “If not you, then who?”  “If not now, then when?”

Consider taking an HONEST look at your how you spend a day.  I think you will find that you spend time doing things like watching tv, or surfing the internet, or other things designed to distract rather than contribute to your overall well-being.  Could you replace any of the things that you do with a workout?  Of course you can!

An hour workout takes no more than 4% of your day but contributes positively to the mind, the body and the spirit 100% of the time!  So rather than looking at the time spent working out as wasted time, take a moment to ask yourself this simple question, “How much time am I going to waste being unable to enjoy the things in life that I would really like to do?”

Let me tell you about one of the members who takes my personal training classes, Lauren.  Lauren came to me beause she was tired all the time, she was experiencing terrible foot pain, joint and muscle aches and discomfort in the knees.   She had back and neck issues and substantial weight gain (she had just been diagnosed with hyprothyroidism.) She had found that she was enjoying life less and less.  One of the things that was affected was her ability to travel. We’ll get to that in a moment.

Lauren begin her workout routines and we refined them to get the most out of the time she spent working out.  She learned the importance of using time effectively and dopted the Fit 1 lisfestyle including making some changes to the types of food that she consumed.  Investing 1 hour a day for a lifetime of change she reaped amazing benefits and not only did rid her of all of her aches and pains she has, to date, lost a whopping 43 lbs.

You would think that weightloss was the greatest benefit right?

Well, no!  Lauren went on a trip to Europe and this is what she said, “Len, I went somewhere new each and every day.  I walked miles and miles as I explored castles and churches, investigated old ruins, climbed stair after stair to see the courtyard from atop a Catherdral in Milan.  Not once did I have to stop, not once did I experience pain, or get winded.  Not one time did my body betray me or keep me from enjoying every single opporunity I had in front of me to truly live the experince.  I experinced it to the very fullest… Len, I lived!

What a great life she is able to live!

It’s the time she put into those hours of training that created the ability to experince life to the fullest, withoout reservation, without limitation!  You have the time!  It is just how you choose to use the time given that will decide how much life you get to exerpience with 100% percent of who you are!

So now what?  Check out the lifechanging tips below!

Make The Change
  • Change the way you think about your time.  You are not sacrificing.  You are investing your time .
  • Time is a common denominator between all people.  We don’t all get the same amount in a life time, but we most certainly get the same amount in a given day to invest how we choose.  Spend your time doing the things that increase health in the body, mind and spirit!
  • See yourself as spending time becoming what you desire to be, then make one actionable step toward it each and every day.
  • Make time by eliminating one thing that you can do that doesn’t serve your purpose and goals.  Cast it aside and pick up the things that feeds the spirit, honors the body and enhances the mind.
Proclaim And Act
  • Feed the spirit.  Proclaim aloud:  I feed my spirit today by _________.  Then take action!
  • Enhance my mind.  Proclaim aloud:  I enhance my mind today by ________.  Then take action!
  • I honor my body.  Proclaim aloud: I care for my body by ________.  Then take action!
  • Exercise is important so I _____________.  Then take action!
  • I invest my time wisely.
  • I do what I need to do and reap the benefits.
  • I feel the change I am making toward my healthy lifestyle.
Power Thought For Today
