As promised I am continuing the #WahtscookinWednesday Christmas series with this Christmas Parmesan Roasted Green Beans recipes to add to your dinner this year.  This tasty play on the green bean casserole tradition for Christmas is a sure hit with tasty Parmesan.  Cause you know, cheese!   We all know that cheese makes all things better!  Savory parmesan baked onto green beans is a must on the table this year.  Yum.  Enjoy this easy to make recipe that’s sure to be a guaranteed crowd pleaser!

The Lowdown

Yields 4 servings at 166 Cal per serving, 12g Fat, 6g Net Carbs, and 8g Protein.

The Groceries

  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • 450 g fresh green beans
  • 80 ml grated parmesan cheese

The Execution

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Whisk together eggs, oil, and spices in a bowl. Add the beans and stir until all of the green beans are covered with the egg batter.
  2. Remove excess liquid and add the parmesan cheese and stir thoroughly.
  3. Spread the beans on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake on the upper level in the oven for 15–20 minutes or until the beans have turned a nice color.

TIP:  If you like your beans crispy, you may place an empty baking sheet in the oven for about 10 minutes prior to baking the beans to heat the baking sheet.  Be sure all of the beans are coated with batter and are placed in a single layer across the baking sheet to ensure that all are cooked nice and crispy.
