Get Your Health and Fitness Back On Track TODAY! Eat, Drink, and Be Merry!tistheseasontobeawesome

We are half way through the holidays and there are still parties, dinners, and holiday baking yet to come. Not to worry, it’s never too late (or too early!) to get back on track! If you slipped up over the first half of the holidays, that’s not a good excuse to eat and drink excessively and feel badly for the next week. Follow these tips from the team at Fit1 Bootcamp to have a healthy, and enjoyable holiday that won’t leave you feeling less than your best!

1. Eat!

Yes, you read that correctly! Starvation is not the answer! We’re not telling you to eat all day, every day, but it’s essential that you feed yourself properly. If you try to starve yourself you’ll only plow through your cupboards and eat whatever you find when your hunger catches up with you.

Focus on eating 3 meals a day, with protein, vegetables, healthy fats and minimal starches and carbs at each meal. Proper nutrition is 85% of the battle. Exercise is essential, but what you put into your system during the 23 hours per day that you’re not in the gym will make the biggest difference in your personal health and fitness!

2. Drink!

Water. Drink a lot of water. Drink at least one big glass of water as soon as you wake up. Add lemon too it, an easy little vitamin boost with an element of detoxification. Drink water all day, every day. Ifyou notice you’re feeling thirsty, you’re probably already dehydrated. You need to drink at least half your body weight, in ounces, of water every day (32 oz.= 1L). (Ex: if you weigh 150 pounds, you need at least 75 oz. or 2.34 L of water, or more because you will be sweating during your workouts)

3.  Be Merry!

Being healthy doesn’t mean you need to hide in your house and avoid all social events. Get out and have fun with your friends, just remember to be balanced and diligent with your healthy eating and exercise routine. Next time someone suggests getting together for drinks or holiday baking, ask if they’d like to go for a walk, ice skate, toboggan, or maybe even a night ski instead! Or do a bootcamp session and then go for a tea, or even a drink! Every little bit of exercise counts!

Bootcamp is a great way to have fun with your friends! Bring a friend to Etobicoke’s best boot camp, Fit1 Bootcamp! All are welcome! Co-ed bootcamp is an energizing and inspiring way to find and maintain the motivation you need to achieve your fitness goals.
